Hoodia Gordoni is a cactus of the family of succulent that grows naturally in South Africa in the Northern Cape province.
It is cultivated by ethnic Bushmen, the tribe of nomadic “San”, who live a thousand miles from Johannesburg and gave him the name “Xhoba.” These Bushmen conduct campaigns hunting in the Kalihari desert and they have become accustomed to resist consuming the sap of Hoodia chewing on its stem. Thus they are discovered, that chewing rod Hoodia cactus, they could hold virtually without food or water for 3 or 4 days, and without experience declines in their energy level. Indeed, a single drop of the white sap (very bitter):- this cactus cancels hunger and thirst for several hours and restores energy.
